Please note that, in the event of UK participation in EASA and mutual recognition of licences and certificates ceasing, some CAA website content and application forms may continue to carry the EASA logo or reference the EU or EASA rather than the UK CAA in the short term. These will be updated in due course following the outcome of the transition period negotiations on the long-term aviation relationship between the UK and the EU. Title:Flight Data Recorders and Cockpit Voice Recorders – Police Helicopters
Description:General Exemption from Article 119 and paragraph 4(13)(c)(i) of Schedule 6, part 1, of the Air Navigation Order 2016, regarding the need for helicopters, operated under and in accordance with a Police Air Operator’s Certificate, with MTOM between 2,730 kg and 3,175 kg with an individual Certificate of Airworthiness first issued before 01 January 2019 to carry flight data recorders and cockpit voice recorders. This exemption will expire on 31 March 2020 by when such helicopters will be required to fitted with the necessary equipment. This exemption replaces ORS 4 No. 1210 and extends compliance dates in line with Safety Directive 2018/002
