Title:Cockpit Voice Recorder – 25 Hour Recording Duration
Description:The effect of COVID-19 on aircraft deliveries in 2020 has resulted in aircraft configured for a 2020 delivery to be delayed until 2021. The CAA has issued an exemption against the requirement to fit a cockpit voice recorder capable of retaining the data recorded during the preceding 25 hours. The exemption is applicable to aircraft, having a first CofA of issued between 1st January 2021 and 31 December 2021, and having a cockpit voice recorder configured for a 2020 delivery.

STATUS: REVOKED: The purpose of the Exemption has now been fulfilled by change to legislation and is covered in UK Regulation (EU) No.965/2012 (the Air Operations Regulation) as retained and amended in UK domestic law under the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018.
