Reference:ORS4 No.1224
Title:Launching of Self-Propelled Hang-gliders with Wheels
Description:This exemption allows an aircraft, of the specified characteristics, to comply with the Air Navigation Order 2016 as if it met the definition of a ‘self-propelled hang-glider’ in Schedule 1 to the Order. Normally this would require the aircraft to be in a ‘foot-launched’ configuration. Wheels or other support devices may be fitted for takeoff, provided the conditions of the exemption are complied with. The minimum stall speed specified in the exemption is to ensure the performance of the aircraft remains equivalent to one that can be foot-launched.
