UK Civil Aviation Regulations

These are published by the CAA on our UK Regulations pages. EU Regulations and EASA Access Guides published by EASA no longer apply in the UK. Our website and publications are being reviewed to update all references. Any references to EU law and EASA Access guides should be disregarded and where applicable the equivalent UK versions referred to instead.

The Department for Transport is developing a new Aviation Strategy and commissioned the CAA to undertake four analysis in support of the strategy: noise limits, noise forecast, emerging technologies and ambient noise. This report covers the first two items and presents a feasibility study of implementing airport noise limits nationally and locally, including pros and cons that noise limits may create. It identifies the level of noise in the shorter/medium (2025) and in 2030, 2040 and 2050. The report also includes two sensitivity analyses to understand what would be impact if older fleet was substituted faster and if the rate of technology improvement was accelerated.
