Title:Lockable Gascolator Drain Valves on General Aviation Aircraft
Description:The purpose of this Safety Notice is to notify General Aviation operators of the risk of engine power loss caused by lockable gascolator fuel drain valves being inadvertently left latched open.

Version 2 introduces two new recommendations. The first (paragraph 2.3) is to ensure that placarding is only present on aircraft fitted with lockable drain valves. The second (paragraph 2.4) recommends updating personal checklists/notes with a specific check item for lockable drain valves, until such time as the lockable drain valve is replaced with a non-lockable alternative.
