EU exit

Please note that, in the event of UK participation in EASA and mutual recognition of licences and certificates ceasing, some CAA website content and application forms may continue to carry the EASA logo or reference the EU or EASA rather than the UK CAA in the short term. These will be updated in due course following the outcome of the transition period negotiations on the long-term aviation relationship between the UK and the EU. In the meantime, the guidance provided and the application forms accessed via the CAA website portal will continue to be valid.

Title:Development of a Technical Standard for Emergency Breathing Systems
Description:This document reports on the experimental work performed in support of the development of a technical standard for helicopter emergency breathing systems (EBS), and also contains the resulting technical standard. The work follows on from the review of EBS implementation and use reported in CAA Paper 2003/13, and is being presented to the EASA helicopter ditching Rule Making Task RMT.0120(27&29.008). The technical specification is offered for use by the industry where EBS is deployed on a voluntary basis, and will be promoted to EASA for use as the basis of a formal specification, i.e. a European Technical Standard Order (ETSO).
