UK Civil Aviation Regulations

These are published by the CAA on our UK Regulations pages. EU Regulations and EASA Access Guides published by EASA no longer apply in the UK. Our website and publications are being reviewed to update all references. Any references to EU law and EASA Access guides should be disregarded and where applicable the equivalent UK versions referred to instead.

The CAA has been assessing the impact of recent court decisions on whether technical faults on aircraft could be considered to be extraordinary circumstances and whether the period for bringing a claim under EC261 can be restricted. This assessment has been compiled into a report to allow consumers to take an informed decision when making their booking based on how they are likely to be treated if they experience a problem.
