Please note that, in the event of UK participation in EASA and mutual recognition of licences and certificates ceasing, some CAA website content and application forms may continue to carry the EASA logo or reference the EU or EASA rather than the UK CAA in the short term. Description:General exemption for any helicopter flying on a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) flight in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) No. 965/2012 (‘the Air Operations Regulation’) from the requirements of the Standardised European Rules of the Air (SERA) with regards to minimum heights and Visual Flight Rules.

Re-issued to enable HEMS operations to be conducted without helmets during the transport of COVID-19 suspected cases.
